Dear Readers,
As we mark the completion of our first year of publication, we are delighted to share the journey of the Global Journal of Medical Students (GJMS). Founded in 2021 under the auspices of the Global Association of Indian Medical Students (GAIMS), GJMS has emerged as a dynamic force in the medical community. Over the past year, GJMS has been dedicated to supporting medical students, residents, and early career physicians in showcasing their research. We have played a pivotal role in elevating the quality of articles by providing meticulous editorial assistance, a gesture warmly appreciated by our valued authors.
In a strategic move towards continuous engagement, we have transitioned to a yearly single-issue format from 2023. This approach allows us to publish articles online as they come in, ensuring a steady stream of knowledge dissemination throughout the year. Our commitment to sound editorial processes has garnered praise from our esteemed advisory board, reaffirming our dedication to maintaining high standards in scholarly publishing.
Global Healthcare Conclave (GHC) is annual conference of GAIMS. Notably, GAIMS recently hosted the successful GHC 2022 in New Delhi, offering a platform for exchange and collaboration in the medical community. The event’s key features, yet to be unveiled, promise to further enrich our collective knowledge. Renowed physicians and enthusiastic medical students from across the India graced the event. Few distinguished guests include Dr. Randeep Guleria (Padhmasri, BC Roy Awardee and Former Director, AIIMS New Delhi), Prof. Minu Bajpai (Executive director, NBEMS), Prof. Anupam Sibal (President, GAPIO) and Dr. Mukesh Bhatia (Director, DBMCI). GHC hosted interesting talks titled reforms in medical education, financial literacy for medicos, mantras for success for healthcare professional and how to study to top any exam. Hands-on-workshops on First AID in Common Emergencies (FACE) & Mechanical Ventilation along with Research Poster Competition and GAIMS Awards received appreciation from GHC delegates.
We extend our gratitude to our sponsors who have supported us on this journey. Looking ahead, while committed to enhancing our publication quality, GJMS may consider a modest Article Processing Charge (APC) in the coming years.
As the Editors-in-Chief, we are excited about the progress we’ve made and the future potential that GJMS holds. Thank you for being a part of this remarkable journey.
Best Regards,
Editorial Board
